FOIL Faewing - Limited to 100 (Pre-Order)

I am a simple man. I yearn for adventure, and I want to have an animal companion as I embark. Especially if that companion is a small dragon. Did I mention he has fairy wings? They are coated with magical dust. Does it bring good fortune? Not exactly. But it might offer a second chance.

You see, Faewing can target a d6 at any time as part of his ultimate ability. Then you can re-roll it. The old roll doesn't count anymore. Cool, right? But you could also re-roll for another person if you want. Let's say an opponent rolled a 6 and escaped the Lava Trap? You can make them roll again, and maybe this time they won't be so lucky.

The coolest part of this ability is every time Faewing feeds, it refreshes, and you can use it again. What is feeding? It's a new term I am using for the act of using a food card on him. So you can get the usual effects of the food, plus a refresh on this ultimate, which just might turn the tide of the game if used at the right moment.

He only has 2 toughness, so don't expect him to take any big hits. But he can block for you in a pinch, and the damage doesn't roll over and hit your champion. So if a Gold Dragon comes your way, you could have Faewing face it and you'd survive. That would be mean. But you can do it.

Anyone can start the game with companions. Unless forbidden by house rules (if you are playing Dragonvault with boring people), if you own a companion you can use it. Just don't forget to give them what they want at the start of the game, otherwise they will take a hike. Sidenote, I'm also a huge fan of random champions and random companions as a game mode, but I'll leave that up to you.
