Rules Clarifications

The player who drew this card does not have to pay a Food card. If they choose not to, simply discard the encounter. If they do pay, they put Noble Pegasus next to their champion to signify that it is now their companion. As long as Noble Pegasus is in play, its ability will be active. This means that whenever the controlling player rolls a d6, they can roll twice, and the lower roll doesn't count.

Reminder—Whenever your champion would be dealt damage, you may have one of your companions block and take the damage, instead. None of the damage taken by the companion spills over and hits your champion, even if it takes more damage than its toughness.
